My Reflection

A hockey game a sliding race

The Cox’s lot on Willow Road was the place.

Revving engines, music and laughter all hours of the night.

Made all neighbors anxious for daylight.

Snow machines, motorcycles, every engine we saw.

When the boys got out of line. Tom would lay down the law.

His loud deep voice would carry down the street.

Don’t go over to Cox’s for tonight we’ll get some sleep!

The boys- Bernie, Jimmy, Patty, and little Mike last.

They did the outrageous, the scars for life hold fast.

Cathy as the only girl held ground.

A life so busy and eventful she was bound.

Tom and Ilene are together again and will reflect.

At the children they had to guide and to correct.

Each one possesses their character and wit.

Their boundless energy and talents just won’t quit.

Ilene’s butter tarts, Tom’s jiggling keys down the school hall.

Oh so many memories too countless too recall.

This wonderful family I am lucky to know.

They gave me my first employment an QN, about 20 years ago.

So please know you’re always thought of in a special way.

A conversation with each one of you is a mirror of Ilene and Tom from yesterday.

Love you all, Susie (Prokopchuk) Stromberg
