A tribute song Written and performed by Marion

During the internment at Little Falls Cemetary, Marion Hyatt sang a very beautiful and moving tribute song for her Uncle Tom. Marion wrote the song just prior to the funeral and we recordeded it on videotape later in the day.

The song is available here to download in MP3 format. The sound quality is not great, I am going to try to resample it at a later date. If you would like to hear it, by all means download it, it is well worth the listen.

Lyrics:

This war is over, peace left inside
Come on in, come on in, come along for the ride
He heard the calling of someone he loved
She called and she told him of a pearl and a dove.

Come to me darling, come on home, I've longed for the day,
There's peace here forever, I'll never leave you again.

This war is over, peace left inside
Come on in, come on in, come along for the ride
When god wants his children, it's too much to bear
Our sorrow, your peace, as you head on up there.

Chorus

While your heart grew heavy, with the battle you drew
My love it grew stronger, as I called out to you.
I'll show you the way here you can follow my love.
I'm waiting here softly; unite the Pearl and the Dove.

Chorus x2

Come to me darling, come on home, I've longed for the day,
There's peace here forever, I'll never leave you again.

Unite the Pearl and the dove.
